Little Joe

Little Joe

A bright but naughty adolescent from country Australia is moved to the city. Caught between a strict private school and a family marred by tragedy; the release of Melbourne's first raves are like an overnight pass to heaven. 20 years on 'Little Joe' reflects on the extent to which this formative experience sparked a drug and alcohol addiction he barely survived. The now infamous 'Melbourne Underground' of the 1990s - a loose affiliation of only a thousand or so 'techno'' enthusiasts - spawned many such problems in ravers' later lives. Now that Electronic Dance Music is mainstream and raves a matter of course, is a much larger cohort headed for the trouble Joe had?
