Us, Who Went Ahead

Tarek and Omair had to leave their families and flee from Syria in 2015. They meet each other on the rough journey and became blood brothers. They arrived to Denmark where Venligboerne started, and finally found safety. Suddenly the Danish migration law separated their paths and Omair was sent to Germany. Tarek is now on his own seeking for family reunification in Denmark. The film takes us on a journey with Tarek in his first years in Denmark and his lonely fight to get reunited with his family.
