Mother's Day: The Forgotten Victims of Death Row

Mother's Day: The Forgotten Victims of Death Row

Between 1976 and 2016, the USA executed over 1400 people. The mothers of many of the condemned men and women testified at trial, pleading for the lives of their children. EACH of these mothers receives the message that she has failed in her highest calling and that her child must be destroyed. The intense grief these women feel is unacknowledged by society. This movie blew me away; however not the first time I saw it, I had to watch it twice to truly appreciate the message and the power of this film. Maybe I wasn't fully paying attention or maybe I was too young at the time but I am so glad that I watched it again.

New creation of Linda Broocks. His films are waiting with a special look, because it offers something that every day, unfortunately, less and less can be found in the world of mass cinema - an interesting spectacle, filled with meaning, ideas and emotions.
