98% Human is a half hour special that takes viewers to the front lines of the fight to save chimpanzees from human driven extinction. Fusion environmental correspondent Nicolás Ibargüen travels to Tanzania, where some of the last wild chimpanzees can still be found. In Tanzania, we will meet Jane Goodall, the legendary scientist and conservationist, at the Gombe National Park where she conducted her seminal thirty-year study on chimpanzees. Today the chimpanzees at Gombe are facing many new threats, and a dedicated group of conservationists and scientists are battling for the survival of those that remain. As we follow these fearless conservation warriors, we will learn about the current crisis facing humanity's closest animal relative and see what is being done to ensure a future for chimpanzees and our planet.
