History, Music, Dance and adventure come together in a high-spirited, melodious romp through the rolling hills of Andalusia. 'Hola, Flamenco' is a musically-infused documentary short dedicated to Spain's UNESCO-recognized national art. Featuring performances, demonstrations and interviews with some of Flamenco's most renowned and charismatic figures, it provides a striking, vibrant introduction to Flamenco, to Spain, and to one of the world's most beloved cultural genres. The film opens in Seville, long-renowned as the birthplace of Flamenco, and then progresses through the cities and towns of Andalusia, taking footage of the art form wherever it emerges. With each new destination, an aspect of its unique character is revealed through dance, music and interviews - its murky origins, the debate between "puristas" and "fusionistas" and the improbable contributions made by Spain's coal miners. Presented with intimate footage that conveys the passions and personalities of those who dedicate themselves to the art of Flamenco, the viewer is left to decide: what is pure? What is correct? And in the end, does it even matter?

Here's a fine example of a film that may makes up for an exciting watch due to its director Colin Mulligan extra-ordinary sense of creating spectacles that feel like breathing artworks.
