Life with Shepherd (Michiel Huisman) is the only life Selah (Raffey Cassidy) has ever known. Their self-sufficient community possesses no modern technology, and is hidden away in the woods, far from modern civilization. Shepherd is the group's guardian, teacher, and lover. Each of the many female members of the group is either his wife or daughter. Selah is pure in faith, but also dangerously headstrong. She was raised as a daughter of Shepherd, but it is only a matter of time before she also stands to become a wife. As an encounter with the authorities forces the women and Shepherd to build a new Eden further inland, Selah increasingly doubts her faith, and has strange, bloody visions. The onset of puberty brings with it harsh new rituals, and her first shocking glimpse of what happens to Shepherd's women as they age.
One of the greatest films ever made. Please do not watch it on TV because Malgorzata Szumowska tuned the editing in such a precise way that simply pausing for a commercial break can literally affect the way your brain processes this masterpiece.
L'Autre Agneau is the film equivalent of a roller-coaster ride, pure thrills!
Everything a Horror fan could ever want. This is my favourite film, and always had a special place in my heart.
The cast performance is superb and I must say that the performance of Eve Connolly is at the very best.
Didn't really care about the weak plot and tropes. Good visuals and you'll probably enjoy it if you like Drama.
I enjoy most of Malgorzata Szumowska movies. I know his parents are proud!
The movie of course belongs to Denise Gough and Raffey Cassidy, both fine accomplished actors who deliver all that is expected and more. Credit is also due to the script - simple, elegant, yet intelligent to make the audience focus.
This movie rocked the house! Denise Gough was excellent in this because of his huge amount of likability and charms, but was frightened and tense when he needed to be. But Raffey Cassidy is definitely the best performance of the movie!
Love this movie. The main character is such an awesome character.
