The first two days of a marriage. Ivan, a punctilious clerk brings his virginal bride to Rome for a honeymoon, an audience with the Pope, and to present her to his uncle. They arrive early in the morning, and he has time for a nap. She sneaks off to find the offices of a romance magazine she reads religiously: she wants to meet "The White Sheik," the hero of a soap-opera photo strip. Star-struck, she ends up 20 miles from Rome, alone on a boat with the sheik. A distraught Ivan covers for her, claiming she's ill. That night, each wanders the streets, she tempted by suicide, he by prostitutes. The next day, at 11, is their papal audience. Can things still right themselves?
If you've got Federico Fellini original masterpiece you'll easily be having butterflies in your stomach and zillions of thoughts going through your head. Thanks for this movie Federico Fellini.
I mean it has Brunella Bovo. What else could you ask for in a movie ?
Topping All Expectations!!!! Each character had their own little arc for them to develop in, this movie pulled it off with grace!
This film is truly a masterpiece, and Federico Fellini greatest work to date!
I want to point out that the movie might have been long but I enjoyed every second of the movie and it was not a drag at all. There is no other way that would have made a perfect movie like this better.
Alberto Sordi was wonderful. The story was amazing and very well done.
Anything Giulietta Masina does (unless mushy-mushy-kiss-kiss garbage) is, without question, Academy Award worthy. He is an actor who is only matched. Alberto Sordi definitely badass! All in all, they all did a fine job.

The character of Leopoldo Trieste is very interesting. I like him so much.
