Why am I left behind?

Why am I left behind?

Along with the reform and opening up of China in the 1980s, people from the rural swarmed to urban areas to hunt for jobs. As the workers formed the backbone of China's labor force and play a pivotal role in building the economy, they sacrificed the welfare of their child. Due to their low income and policy restrictions, parents could not afford to bring their child with them. Leaving with no choice, they left their child behind to work far from home to make the ends meet. With more than 61 million left behind children in China, Why Am I Left Behind explores the common phenomenon through the eyes of three left behind child, Chen Jinhao, Chen Jinquan and Chen Jinhua. Chen Jinhao and Chen Jinquan are brothers from the same father but different mother. They have not seen their parents for more than two years and lived with their grandparent. The two boys are affected psychologically due to the lack of parental love and companion. Join us in the journey to reveal the lives of the left behind children and their family.

Freaking awesome… is the adjective which I choose to type the first word of this review. As I left the theater I was not only spellbound, but I was also sulking about the fact that the movie had ended.

Superb! I rarely get to go to a movie with my older son after his siblings came along. We did manage to go to this movie in the cinemas. Not only were we glad we chose this movie to watch, but we still recall the impact this movie had on both of us.
