Fighting to Film

This is a story about Alison Maclean. She's a woman in a man's world. She is determined, ambitious, strong, and fearless. She is a film maker. Alison has put her life in danger countless times and overcame discrimination because of her gender to bring back stories to share with the world. Stories with meaning and purpose. Maclean went to the Middle East, and with the help of her translator, Deena Safi they made a film documenting the lives of female police officers in Afghanistan. It is a country riddled with war and often described as one of the most dangerous places for women. In Fighting to Film, you will hear about her experiences and hardships not only for being a woman but also being a woman in combat camera. She shares about almost being kidnapped and risking her life to save a fellow soldier.

I don't often see a modern film that I thoroughly enjoy, but this is one of the exceptions. From the start, you are immersed in the movie.

Very early in this film, I formed an interpretation which I believe to be completely correct, and borne out by the plot and details. I thoroughly enjoyed the journey, and was surprised by many aspects of the film along the way.
