Native people in British Columbia, Canada, are becoming aware of the value of their traditional territory and are opposing development projects: against tar sands, gas pipelines and fracking, dozens of groups along a West bound corridor from the Rocky Mountains to the Pacific Ocean are occupying native lands. There are healing centers, smokehouses for the salmon, training courses about traditions, berry picking and aboriginal culture. They are defending the land for the next generations.
