The Poorest Man in the World follows the lives of three members of a newly formed family over two weeks as they each come to grips with their place in life.Grandison is a man in his mid-twenties preparing to celebrate his one year anniversary with his wife Juliet who is over ten years his elder. Thus far Grandison has failed to shed his adolescent lifestyle despite his new position as husband and stand-in father for Juliet's teenage daughter, Zoe. Juliet is more than willing to accommodate Grandison's immaturity as it protects her from being hurt by another man in her life. Meanwhile, Zoe is being confronted more and more with a hostile adult world, the challenges of which neither Grandison or Juliet are equipped to help her with. When the balance of Grandison and Juliet's domestic arrangement is toppled, all three members of the family seek comfort and direction in different places pulling some of them further away and some of them to greater intimacy.

When you are using real actors and not "reheated" stars alongside silly semi-amateurs, plus a script that does not self plagiarize, any movie can only be good and very good!

In this surprisingly good movie, Matthew W. Griffin raise interesting questions, but use a different angle this time around.

It is beautiful and it's such a pleasure to see Janet Lo and Randall Reese in roles they deserve.
